Travis saves the day!

Have you ever heard the expression “you don’t know what you don’t know?” By the end of June, I had edited my manuscript and hired an illustrator, but I still really didn’t know what I was doing. I had no idea how the illustration process worked, and since Timna and I were half way around the world from each other, we couldn’t just sit down together and work it out. We were having some communication problems, and I think we were about ready to call it quits.

Most of it revolved around where the text would go, and how to make the illustrations work around the text. It’s like, which comes first, the text or the pictures? Luckily, I connected with a great guy named Travis Peterson. I found him in a Facebook group for authors. He is from North Carolina, went to school in Indiana, and lives in The Netherlands. Only 6 hours ahead of me! We connected instantly, especially after he answered question after question, after question, even before I hired him!

Travis was able to get Timna and I on the same page, literally, and then pulled it all together when he added the text in such a creative way, and did the cover design. He really saved the project. He has updated the files several times (I found 2 small errors that were driving my crazy) and created an eBook file as well. Travis has is own book coming out soon called Ada and the Helpers, a cute story about a fox who has hearing aids. His website is www.launchmissioncreative.com and I highly recommend him for any book formatting needs!
